Valerie Bishop has been principal of The Marlow School of Dance since July 1984. She trained at the Star School of Dance and Drama in Watford from the age of 4-17 years and then went on to the Elizabeth Harrison College at 18 years where she gained associate status with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing in Ballet, Modern Theatre and National, which she gained with distinction.
Having taken over the Ballet School from Georgina Atkinson, Valerie went on to establish other sections in Modern, Tap and Character Dancing, thus enabling pupils to have a more varied and wider choice of Dance with in the school.
In 1992 she gained Licentiate status with the Society and has also passed R.S.A. examinations in Anatomy and Physiology and the History of Western Dance. In November 1995 Valerie gained her associate Diploma in Ballet, which promoted her to full registration within the Society.
In 2007 The Council of Dance Education and Training recognised the work she has done and after some training, awarded her with a CDE (Council of Dance Education) Certificate.
Throughout her dancing career she has appeared in many Operatic Society shows and Christmas pantomimes.

Alison Mansfield trained at the Royal Ballet School and having successfully completed her professional examinations, was awarded Associate Membership of the Royal Academy of Dancing. Whilst at Royal, Alison was invited to perform solos for Coppelia, Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake for Dance Ninette de Valois and The Company.
After following other career choices and raising a family, she returned to the stage performing in many light Operatic productions. She joined Marlow School of Dance in 2002 assisting with private lessons and examination coaching, and is now teaching several group lessons
